It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Or at least it should be.
If you’re an adult, you may still experience the magic, but you also have to do all the work. And every now and then we slip up and make a big, festive faux pas.
These photos are so bad they may just make you feel better about your own slip-ups.
Umm, thanks Grandma . . . ?

We’re pretty sure Grandma was aiming for Christmas swans with her table settings, but what do you see? Her attempt at elegance has taken an unexpectedly humorous turn, yet her effort to make Christmas dinner fancy is commendable.

Happy Holidays, from Jabba the Snowman
Whoops! That baking adventure didn’t exactly go as planned. Holding the pan like that definitely didn’t help, but maybe some Star Wars figurines and a Santa hat can salvage it!
Alternatively, embrace the chaos and call it “Melted Frosty,” turning it into a deep, philosophical reminder for the kids: life is full of disappointments, and even the things you love eventually melt away. Kids love existential lessons during the holidays!
O Poopmas tree, O Poopmas tree, how…unique are thy branches? Somehow, this “fecal-inspired” decor made it into a mall for Christmas, leaving everyone scratching their heads. Is there really any other way to interpret this questionable design choice?
At least it brought some holiday laughs, even if it’s a big, stinky, and mysteriously sparkly fail. Here’s hoping next year’s decor smells a little sweeter!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas (except for Allison)
Allison’s solo sock gift from her husband’s parents raises some eyebrows—was it a message of disappointment, or are her in-laws channeling their inner Scrooge? Either way, this gift says more than words ever could. Whether it’s a case of bah-humbug vibes or a quirky misunderstanding, Allison’s in for a Christmas to remember!
Umm…those aren’t reindeer
Sure, reindeer might not fly, but they’re definitely strong enough to pull a sleigh. Bunnies? Not quite the same vibe. Did Lindt think no one would notice the swap, or were reindeer-shaped chocolates just too tricky to mold?
On the bright side, you can recycle the bunnies for Easter, and no one will bat an eye. Dual-holiday candy innovation, perhaps?
Yep, nailed it! Nothing screams “Happy Holidays!” quite like a festive front door bloodbath. This questionable decor choice is sure to have the neighborhood kids asking questions—and you can spin it into a cautionary tale about the consequences of being naughty all year.
Who says Christmas can’t have a little horror twist?
Fa la la la, la la la fart
Wait, those aren’t butts? Maybe it’s the angle—or the lighting—but these reindeer decorations definitely look like something else entirely. Either way, it seems like you’ve accidentally bought reindeer that look suspiciously like pantsless people bending over. Talk about a holiday design fail with a cheeky twist!
Gotta give them A fort effort on this one! The gingerbread house was adorable—until it tragically collapsed. Maybe Santa had one too many cookies and landed on the roof a little too hard? Either way, it’s a sweet disaster that still brings plenty of holiday cheer (and crumbs).
Holiday baking fails truly are the best—especially when they’re not yours! This one deserves special recognition for being completely unidentifiable. Not even a gingerbread man gone wrong—just a mysterious blob of doughy confusion.
Merry Blobmas to all! At least we can hope they tasted good, because they sure didn’t win in the presentation department.
Hey kids, have you ever heard the story of how Santa lost a finger?
So…maybe that’s baby Jesus? But who’s the creepy figure looming behind him? And more importantly, why does this “precious” ornament look so much like a thumb?
We’ve got questions for the designers because this one’s not exactly radiating Christmas cheer. Let’s just say we’re not quite feelin’ the holiday spirit here—thumbs down on this one!
Did Grandma accidentally shop at that “bookstore” near the truckstop? We’re not saying anything, but those are some very questionable “candles.”
We’ll let you make your own jokes here—just know we’re backing away slowly and leaving this hilariously awkward holiday gift to your imagination.
Times are tough—even for Santa. Maybe he couldn’t afford the reindeer this year, or perhaps he just couldn’t find reliable help and had to do it all himself.
Or, let’s face it, this could simply be one hilariously bizarre ornament that has us questioning everything. Either way, Santa deserves an “A” for effort (and probably a nap after this solo mission)!
In case you weren’t flexible enough to notice, Santa’s perched right on your rear end, staring every time you sit down. And let’s be honest—he’s probably questioning why you’d choose to wear him there.
Where does this land you on the naughty list, exactly? When you’ve had enough judgment, just stand up—then he’ll transform into a bizarre upside-down knee Santa. Who came up with this design? Drunk elves on their lunch break, perhaps?
Seriously, what is this—and more importantly, WHY does it exist? Did this ever pass through a focus group, or was everyone just too distracted by eggnog?
And do we really need to spell it out? Don’t wait until Christmas to open if it’s an emergency! Some “gifts” leave us with more questions than answers.
Maybe it’s time to retire the “classics”
These unsettling angels have apparently graced many a grandparent’s home over the years. Nostalgic? Maybe. Less creepy? Not even a little.
The real question is: who was the model for this angel? Whoever they were, their eerie likeness has haunted holiday decor for generations!
This display rang in the Asstmchri season
Someone clearly got a bit too carried away with the eggnog while designing this holiday…whatever it is. Sure, no one’s mistaking it for another event, but come on—where’s the effort? A touch of green and red could’ve gone a long way. As it stands, this design is giving more “holiday whoops” than “holiday cheer.”
It’s one thing to misspell a word—it happens! But for it to make it through production, shipping, and all the way to the salesroom floor? That’s next-level oversight.
“Christmas” isn’t exactly a tough word to spell, yet here we are, staring at this festive faux pas. Hopefully, buyers saw the humor and took these home for a chuckle-filled holiday!
Whoever designed these decorations—and whoever hung them up thinking “yep, nailed it!”—clearly didn’t notice the unfortunate resemblance to underwear. While many probably passed under these “charming” holiday adornments without a second glance, once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
Questions abound, but one thing is certain: these festive “panties” are here to stay in our holiday memories!
When your holiday Pinterest attempt turns into a spectacular fail, there’s only one solution: invent Frosty’s evil brother, Shnosty. A parent with a flair for storytelling could spin a tale about how kids need to be on their best behavior—or risk having their presents swiped by this frosty villain.
Who says blackmail can’t be festive? Shnosty may not spread joy, but he’s certainly bringing laughter to the season!
There’s really only one takeaway here: if your giant Christmas light display resembles something… less festive, maybe consider a redesign. Palm trees can absolutely be decorated without looking so, well, phallic—it’s just a choice people don’t always make.
Good luck explaining this to the kids! On the bright side, it’s sure to leave an unforgettable impression on your holiday visitors.
There’s nothing like a latex glove to say “Happy Holidays!”
Who says a holiday fail can’t also be clever? This surgical glove tree is equal parts hilarious and haunting. It’s easy to imagine it lurking in our nightmares, either beckoning us closer or prepping for an invasive exam.
Luckily, this photo is from seven years ago—long before PPE shortages would’ve made this a real controversy. For now, we’ll just admire its creativity from a safe distance.
We don’t think it takes a dirty mind to see what’s wrong with this.
These snowmen could have been positioned in plenty of other ways that didn’t make it look so…risque.
We do realize snowmom and snowbaby are using snowdad as a sled…but did no one stand back and think “that’s not what I see here” before this went into production?
Somehow, the motion makes it less pervy
We get it. At night, Santa moves and it looks like he’s putting down a gift.
Alas, in the daytime, it does not look like that.
Luckily, most kids won’t see it like adults do.
Intentional or wrapping fail?
First of all, whoever made this wrapping paper needed to introduce some strategic spacing between words.
But our real question is: did a teenager wrap this or did someone only realize what they did after they taped it all up?
Granted, for many, this would be a holiday win.
Rudolph has had it with the song
Don’t you hate when holiday eating makes your clothes feel tight?
Okay, so she didn’t exactly overindulge so much as accidentally buy a child’s size sweater.
Or maybe the real fail was assuming this came in an adult size at all.
Looks like someone will be going topless at the ugly sweater party.
To wrap a gift for Christmas
She didn’t see it when she bought it
It’s definitely a white Christmas
