Relationship Advice: Why you should never give a second chance. Burn your bridges!
Why you should never give a second chance. Burn your bridges and regret nothing! I don’t give anyone second chances anymore because I think it’s pointless and thankless. When you give someone a second chance, you’re giving it to yourself; admit it. You’re just not ready to let the person go yet.
We’ve gotten too used to it. But people don’t change. A liar is a liar. An idiot is an idiot. A womanizer is a womanizer. A neurasthenic is a neurasthenic. Well, you get the idea.
From my experience, I can say that nothing good ever comes out of all these returns and forgiveness of a person who was once so dear.
The result is the same anyway: separation. Someone disappointed you with something or simply left your life for no apparent reason, then, as Foxy wrote, “Good riddance and a highway without traffic jams.” Burn your bridges and don’t regret anything.
By giving someone a second chance, you will simply fray your nerves once again. You will howl into your pillow at night not only in December, but you will howl again in February and then, perhaps, in April. It depends on how much strength you have to jump on the same rake.
Repeated disappointment in a person who has already disappointed you in some way is inevitable. Therefore, you need to tear it out at the roots right away. I understand; it is easy to say but harder to do.
Yes, it hurts. Yes, it’s hard. Yes, we’ve gotten used to it. Yes, we haven’t learned to live without it yet. But it’s better to suffer through it once than to suffer for several years.
Love yourself first, and then everyone else. Have pride; don’t humiliate yourself. Respect yourself. Be strong after all, because our whole life is a fight. First of all, with yourself.
Now you know why you should never give a second chance.
